60th Anniversary Annual World Congress
International College of Angiology(ICA2018)開催にあたって

JESの会期となる8月22日(水)・23日(木)に先駆けて、ICA2018をJESと同じ会場で、8月20日(月)・21日(火)に開催いたします。

本会議は1958年に米国アトランティックシティで発足後、国際脈管学会(International College of Angiology ; ICA)が主催して毎年世界各国で開催される国際会議です。

世界各国の臨床医、研究者をはじめ医療従事者が本会議で一堂に会し、脈管学に対する臨床、研究および教育についての最新の研究成果を発表・討論し知識を深め、脈管学に対する取り組みを世界に情報発信していく事を目的としています。世界第一線のファカルティーによるSpecial Lecture、Presentationなどのセッションを展開する予定です。

近年の医療技術の発展が目覚しい中、特に日本における脈管学の分野は必ずしも他分野と同程度の発展を遂げているとは言い難い状況にあります。本会議は、本邦における更なる医療貢献を目指す場にしたいとも考えています。

「人は血管と共に老いる」-カナダの著名な医学者ウィリアム・オスラーがいみじくもこの言葉を残したように、超高齢化社会に突入した日本にとって、動脈硬化をはじめとする血管を含む脈管疾病の予防が喫緊の課題となっております。本会議を通じて、脈管学に関する最新の知見について、多数の参加者が情報交換を行うことで交流を深め、研究の発展につながり、そして世界に先駆けて超高齢化社会を迎える日本が高齢者の病である脈管病の分野で世界の模範となる取り組みを発信する意義は極めて大きいと考えられます。
